Course Overview:
Our CAT and Genny Training course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively use Cable Avoidance Tools (CAT) and Signal Generators (Genny) for locating underground services. These tools are essential for preventing accidental damage to buried utilities, such as water, gas, electricity and telecom cables, during excavation or construction work.
The course covers a wide range of topics, starting with an overview of underground services and the importance of utility detection in preventing hazards. Participants will learn the correct operation of both the CAT and Genny, including how to set them up, calibrate the equipment and interpret the results accurately.
