First Aid at Work Courses (FAW) (RQF)

First Aid at Work Courses (FAW) – The Legal Requirement
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid provision for their workforce. It is recommended that someone is able to undertake First Aid duties at all times when people are at work. A First Aid at Work qualification will make a positive contribution to the safety of your workplace. After qualifying in First Aid at Work you’ll have the essential skills to handle any First Aid situation, from minor slips and trips to the most serious of incidents.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) (RQF) – (3 Days)

This TQUK accredited qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work, within industry who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

First Aid at Work Course
Subjects covered include:

  • Incident Management
  • Casualty Head to Toe Survey
  • Minor Injuries
  • Major Illnesses
  • Head and Chest Injuries
  • Suspected Spinal Injuries
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Sudden Poisoning

TQUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) (RQF) Assessment and Certification
The qualification is assessed via practical demonstrations and oral questioning. All successful learners will be issued with a First Aid at Work E-Certificate , along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification which is valid for a period of three years.

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)

Level 3 Award (EFAW) (RQF) – (1 Day)

This TQUK accredited qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work, within industry who wish to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Emergency First Aid at Work Course – Course Information
Topics covered by this qualification include: the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness.

TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (RQF) Assessment and Certification
The qualification is assessed via practical demonstrations and oral questioning. All successful learners will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work E-Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification which is valid for a period of three years. However, the recommendation is that learners refresh their knowledge annually.

First Aid at Work Courses – Company/Corporate Requirements (on-your-site)
For additional economy and flexibility, corporate clients may opt to have this course delivered on their own site. Companies can negotiate the course dates and timings. This arrangement also enables us to provide a course with content suitable to the particular needs of that workplace. Please email with your requirements.

Since the 1st of October, 2013 it has been the responsibility of business owners to provide first aiders in the workplace, every TQUK First Aid Qualification will provide businesses with competent first aiders as well as regulation compliance, the HSE ceased approving First Aid training providers to deliver First Aid training. This approval system has been replaced with a recommendation that first aid training in the workplace should be approved by Awarding Organisations that are regulated by Ofqual.

All of TQUK’s First Aid Qualifications have been produced in consultation with the HSE and the qualification regulators and are supported by Skills for Health. TQUK are also approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to provide the new EFAW and FAW qualifications for the purpose of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations.
